What a fun birthday party! It was cold, but fun. Ellie’s mommy had a real carousel at the party and the kids LOVED it. Here are a few shots I got. Hope ya’ll enjoy!
Grace & Peace…

It was SO cold the day of this session! I mean, it was FREEZING. Seriously, I think it was like 34 degrees. Despite the frigid temps, this session was AWESOME! Marissa was such a sport. I don’t even think she had chill bumps in any of the pictures! Marissa is a senior this year and I just know she and God have big plans for her future. Her mom is way up there on my list of people who have touched my life. She has a very special place in my heart. I have the feeling Marissa is going to touch many lives as well…
I always ask God to give me a word that will somehow fit and touch the person or people it is meant for. Teresa and Marissa, this is for you… “O God, listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to You… lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been my refuge…” Psalm 61:1-3
Andee would be SO proud…

Yes, she was BAREFOOT on the beach in the 34 degree weather! Much more determined than I!

What a blessing and an adventure this was! I have been raised all my life learning to love and appreciate the outdoors. Some of the best times of my life have been sitting in a deer stand or just riding on a 4-wheeler with my daddy and brothers. I have a few “trophy deer” under my belt and a few more of those good ‘ole stories we hunters love to hear and tell. Yeah, I’m one of the guys. Well, this was my first duck hunt and I was fortunate to experience it with Rod and Kelly Haydel of Haydel’s Game Calls. It was truly wonderful. These guys are lovers of the hunt, not just hunters. There is a huge difference between the two. Really it is! I could write a book on the difference, but I won’t.
Anyway, these are some shots I got. I definitely learned a lot on this little adventure and I can hardly wait for the next opportunity. Thanks again guys!

I had the honor of photographing this dear family over Christmas. You may recognize Jonathan and Elizabeth, the actors I photographed several months ago. The two of them were in action as Pirate Scurvy and Princess Elizabeth on Christmas morning in order to surprise my girls along with my niece and nephew with tickets to Disney World! So, to show my gratitude we got the whole family got together for a photo session… with one small surprise awaiting Elizabeth. Jonathan proposed during the shoot! Oh I was just thrilled to be a part of this! These are great people and I consider myself very blessed to know them all. Hope ya’ll enjoy!
“Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise His holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things He does for me.” – Psalm 103:1-2

Happy New Year everyone! Can you all believe that it is 2008?? I know I can’t. Gosh, WHERE does the time go?
My nice little break began and ended before I knew it. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time off this month, but I am beginning to get a little stir crazy and am looking forward to my upcoming photo sessions. I do not “officially” start my appointments until January 17th, after my husband goes back to work. He wasn’t able to be home with us for Christmas or New Year’s, so the girls and I will be spending the entire time he’s home just with him!
I do have one session to post, hopefully in a couple of days. And I will be traveling to South Louisiana to photograph a duck hunt the first of next week. I am REALLY excited about that! This is a new realm of photographing I’m diving into. I love all my people, but there is just something so exhilarating about photographing nature and wildlife.
My schedule for 2008 is undergoing some changes. I will not be taking on as many appointments as I did last year. There are quite a few weddings on my book and hopefully I’ll be doing more wildlife/outdoor life photography. Currently, I’m booked solid through April with a few appointments available for May. I’m mainly trying to concentrate on weekday appointments, reserving my weekends for my family. So any appointments booked on Saturdays WILL incur an extra charge. For those of you who already have Saturday appointments scheduled, don’t worry, this doesn’t apply to you. Lucky, lucky! So, having covered all the formalites… I’m glad to be back behind my camera! Woo-hoo! Look forward to seeing/talking/emailing with all of you. I’ve missed you guys!
Now, for some words to start the year out with…
Eternal God, you make all things new, and abide for ever the same: grant me to begin this year in your faith, and to continue it in your favor, that, being guided in all my doings, and guarded all my days, I may spend my life in your service, and finally, by your grace, attain the glory of everlasting life, through Jesus Christ my Lord. AMEN!
“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.” Psalm 1:1
May God continue to bless you and your families this year in more ways than you ever thought possible! Grace & Peace!
