A girl and her horse…

This was a fun shoot!  I was so excited when Rachael’s mom called me about photographing her and her horse, Sassy.  Rachael is a barrell racer, and from talking to her dad, she’s a darn good one too!!  I didn’t get a chance to see her run while I was there, but I plan on it one day.

We took some casual shots, bareback and barefoot.  Then she and Sassy put all their sparkly duds on and we got some really fun shots.  I swear to you, this horse was posing for me!  Absolutely hilarious!  I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with them.  It is so refreshing to see a young person chasing their dreams.  To see that ambition in their eyes.  Keep on chasin’ yours Rachael!  You’re an inspiration to many people, don’t ever forget that.

“But hope that is seen is no hope at all.  Who hopes for what he already has?  But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” – Romans 8:24-25

“Often the deepest relationships can be developed during the simplest activities.” – Gary Smalley

I don’t think this little boy stopped moving the entire time I was trying to take his picture.  What a busy little person!  He was somewhere new and he was having to explore and check it out!  Every time I photograph anyone, I’m just amazed at how different God makes people.  It always makes me smile to think how uniquely each of us is put together and how He knows all of us so well… better than we know ourselves.  I praise Him for making me, as well as my loved ones, different from anyone else.  I praise Him for my little love gifts, my talents, my Jesus, my family, and so much more.  I praise Him because He is worthy to be praised… just because of who He is.

“It is my pleasure to tell you about the miraculous signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed for me.”  Daniel 4:2

“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.  But do this with gentleness and respect…”  1Peter 3:15

What a beautiful girl!  Gorgeous green eyes!  I enjoyed my afternoon with Jana and her mom.  The cooler weather made out for a not-so-sweaty photo shoot and no mosquitos!  These are a few of my favorites.  Hope ya’ll enjoy!

Facing the Giants

If you have not seen the movie “Facing the Giants”, GET IT NOW!  I purchased the movie over the weekend and let me tell you… it was awesome.

For those of you who haven’t heard… it’s about a high school football coach with a six year losing streak who seems to have every obstacle imaginable coming at him from his professional life to his personal life to his life of faith.  When he finally decides to trust in the power of faith, he discovers a strength only bestowed by our wonderful God.

This movie is family friendly all the way around.  In fact, every family should see it.  We are so blessed to serve such an awesome God.  He knows our every need, all we have to do is trust in the power of faith and He will give us that strength, that peace that passes all understanding.  Whatever your stronghold is, God knows.  Just give it to Him.  Give your everything to Him and He will give His everything to you.

“What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open.  I know your deeds.  See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.  I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.”  Revelation 3:8

Praise God!!

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” 3 John 1:4

Well, I’d be lying if I said that this session didn’t pose a bit of a challenge!  Boys, twins, Seniors…but it was fun!  We had a great time roaming around West Monroe and actually found some great shooting locations.   I always love it when I find some place new!

These were some of my favorites from our day.  Hope ya’ll enjoy!

“These days should be remembered and observed in every generation by every family.”  Esther 9:28

I had the honor of capturing these little moments for my bestest friend, Jami and her family.  I think Jami and I have been friends since we were born.  Although we are all grown up now and don’t get to see each other as much as we should, she will always hold a special place in my heart!  We were pregnant together… I with my last, she with her first.  We’ve shared many great times, and some that we should have kicked each other for! :)

She and Jason are now expecting baby #2 in October!  Can hardly wait to see him!  Thank you, Jami, for a great visit and for allowing me to capture these memories for you, Jason, and JT.  I love ya’ll!

Dear God, we praise You as the refuge and strength of our marriage and family.  May the traditions that we establish bring glory and honor to Your name even as they bring each of us closer together in love.  Amen.

Grace & Peace…

“Mom, that chair is UGLY.  And I hope you know you are NOT putting it in MY room.” - Miss Carson Smith

Well, she sure changed her mind about the chair after I told her it was for pictures.  She was grabbing clothes and ready to model when I told her that!  We found this fabulous flea market treasure over the weekend and couldn’t wait to try it out.

Hope ya’ll enjoy!
